I'm Jon, owner and inspector at InspectSD.
With more than 10 years of experience in home construction and inspections, I bring a hands-on understanding of how homes are built, how their systems work together, and where problems tend to hide. As an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector (CPI), my goal is to give every client a thorough, practical assessment of their property—and explain the findings in a way that actually makes sense.
InspectSD goes beyond simply identifying defects. I use tools such as thermal imaging and moisture detection to help uncover conditions that aren't always visible during a conventional inspection. I also offer specialized services including home energy assessments, mold inspections, pool and spa inspections, and other ancillary services when a property calls for a closer look.

My path to home inspection started with more than a decade of hands-on experience in home construction. That background taught me to look beyond individual components and think about how a home works as a whole—from the roof and structure to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, moisture management, and the building envelope.
That perspective eventually led me to home inspection. I wanted to use that experience to help homeowners and buyers understand not only what I find, but why it matters.
Today, that's still how I approach every inspection. My job isn't to overwhelm you with a list of defects. It's to identify meaningful conditions, explain them clearly, and help you understand what deserves attention now, what can wait, and what may simply need to be monitored.
