Home Energy Assessment
Is one room always hotter than another? Does your A/C seem to run constantly during hot weather? Are you dealing with drafts, uneven temperatures, or unexplained energy use? An InspectSD Home Energy Assessment uses visual evaluation, thermal imaging, and targeted observations to help identify conditions that may be affecting your home's comfort and efficiency—and provides practical, prioritized recommendations for improvement.

When You Should Consider It

  • Rooms or floors are consistently hotter or colder than others

  • Your heating or cooling system struggles to maintain comfortable temperatures

  • Your HVAC system seems to run excessively or cycle frequently

  • You notice drafts or suspect unwanted air leakage

  • Energy bills seem unusually high

  • You're concerned about insulation or building-envelope performance

  • You're planning efficiency improvements and want to know where to start

What You Get

  • Visual assessment of accessible building-envelope conditions

  • Thermal imaging of walls, ceilings, doors, windows, registers, and other areas as appropriate

  • Evaluation of accessible insulation and air-sealing conditions

  • Observations of accessible HVAC distribution and ductwork

  • Identification of notable thermal anomalies

  • Targeted temperature measurements when appropriate

  • Photo documentation of significant observations

  • Prioritized recommendations for improvement

Limitations

  • Assessment is visual and non-invasive

  • Concealed or inaccessible conditions cannot be fully evaluated

  • Thermal imaging identifies temperature patterns but does not independently diagnose concealed defects

  • Blower-door testing and quantitative air-leakage testing are not included

  • HVAC load calculations, system sizing, airflow balancing, and duct-leakage testing are not performed

  • Utility savings and specific energy reductions are not guaranteed

More Than an Energy-Bill Review

Home comfort problems often have more than one contributing factor. Insulation, air leakage, HVAC distribution, duct conditions, exterior openings, and localized heat transfer can all affect how comfortable different areas of a home feel.

Rather than assuming one solution fits every home, the assessment looks for observable conditions that may be contributing to the concern and organizes recommendations by priority—helping you decide where further evaluation or improvements may provide the most value.

Make Your Home More Comfortable

If parts of your home never seem to heat or cool the way they should, a Home Energy Assessment can help identify where to start.
