Chimney Inspection (Level 1)

A chimney inspection evaluates the visible and accessible components of the chimney structure and venting system to identify safety concerns, deterioration, or installation issues.

When You Should Consider It

  • The home has a fireplace or wood-burning appliance

  • The chimney appears cracked, leaning, or weathered

  • You notice loose mortar or masonry damage

  • The home is older

  • The fireplace has not been inspected recently

What You Get

  • Visual inspection of exterior chimney structure

  • Evaluation of flashing and visible masonry

  • Inspection of chimney cap and crown (when accessible)

  • Identification of visible separation from the structure

  • Photo documentation and repair recommendations

Limitations

  • Does not include Level II or Level III internal flue camera inspection

  • Does not include dismantling masonry or removing finishes

  • Chimney interior may not be fully visible without specialized equipment
